Despite all Angela has been through, she is full of life and love to give to the right family

Rescue volunteers in Izmir originally found Angela at a Turkish shelter in a terrible condition. No one knows how she ended up at the shelter or how long she’d been there but without intervention she was definitely not going to survive there much longer. She had almost no fur.

Angela, sad and lonely in the shelter

She could not be left there so the rescue volunteers took her to a private clinic for a few weeks where was cured of scabies and distemper. She must have suffered so much in that shelter.

Trying to relieve her sore and itchy skin

When she was well enough a home was found for her with a young guy locally. He looked after her for two years and then returned her because he couldn’t afford to look after her anymore. After two years Angela was homeless again.

Angela on her way to recovery but you’d never imagine she would end up being the beauty she is

She was fostered for 18 months by one of the volunteers until AFOT was asked to find her a permanent home. Her foster carer says “Angela had it really hard but she is one of the most positive, lovely dogs we ever had. She is really good with people and other dogs. A total hug addict. She is good in the car. She is good with cats. She has been around kids, adults and other dogs all her life. She is adoptable; she like going on long hikes. Loves to explore. Loves sniffing around and nature. She would be great for travelling together as well as living at home. At home she is calm and knows basic commands.”

Angela now – a stunning German Shepherd Cross

Angela is approximately three years old and weighs 20kg. She has been through so much and let down so often but she has retained her loving temperament and is a calm, cuddly, friendly and well behaved girl who is now ready for her forever family to call her own.
