Beautiful and bouncy, Dani is such a happy boy now he’s free
Dani was found close to a river tied up to a very short chain being fed on scraps of bread. It seems that was his life and that was how he was kept.
The volunteers who found him could not leave him to that hell and so they rescued him and took him straight off to the vets.
There he was found to have deep ligature marks that had cut into his neck due to a life of being tied to such a short rope. He was also suffering from severe malnutrition, which had affected his legs. And so the work began to build him up and to set him on the path to recovery.
Today you would not recognise Dani as being that same dog.
He is now a happy and playful boy and his legs have now become a lot stronger as a result of the good diet and the TLC he is now getting in foster care.
Dani gets along well with other dogs as well as cats, and even chickens. He just hasn’t got a bad bone in his body and is the sweetest of dogs. Dani would thrive with another resident dog/s who would welcome him, as he just loves the company and to play.
He is a small to medium sized dog weighing around 17kg and he is estimated to be around 18 months old. We expect him to be approaching two years old by the time he is ready to travel to the UK.
When he was rescued, he did not know what love and affection was as he had not experienced it at all in his short life. It is quite possible he may have suffered some form of abuse during that time as he can still be a little scared if he sees sudden movement.
The vets believe the diet of just bread and water through his early life has left him with a development disorder.
He is getting stronger and we expect him to continue to grow from strength to strength. Animal Friends of Turkey will continue to support him with this condition but he needs a home where he can be loved and cared for, and importantly given a good diet for the rest of his life.
As you can see from the photographs, Dani is a special and loving little chap who really is loving his newfound life of freedom and one now filled with love and kindness. This gentle soul now deserves a forever home to call his own, could that be with you?
It is no more than this young lad deserves and we are determined to find just the right home and just the right person for him.
