Rescue pup Eddie rescued from a cruel world but is now safe and sound – RESERVED
Eddie is another of the pups who came into the world as one of a litter of nine born in one of the most inhospitable areas of Turkey.
He was born in a place called Nidge which is notorious for the cruelty the residents there show to dogs born to the streets.
His mother Lady and all nine puppies were rescued and taken away from there by animal welfare volunteers.
They managed to find homes for all but four of the pups and Eddie is one of those.
It was then that Animal Friends of Turkey agreed to step in to help find Eddie and his three homeless siblings a safe, loving home of their own in the UK.
The pups are all of the Kangol-cross variety with the most dominant character trait of this famous Turkish shepherd dog breed being loyalty and devotion.
Like his siblings he shows the early signs of having this very same characteristic himself.
Pure bred Kangols grow into big dogs but this will not be the case for Eddie who is currently on the size of a long legged Jack Russell. We believe he is likely to remain a small or slightly medium size when fully grown.
Eddie has a wonderful and gentle nature and a loving, calm temperament.
He is very cat friendly and gets on really well with the other dogs in foster care with him.
He loves his walks and his good on the lead. He is getting some basic training but this will need to continue when he gets to the UK.
He has really nice manners and is clearly a very intelligent dog to listens to everything that is going on around him.
He is currently six months old and he is now beginning the work to prepare him for his journey to the UK later this Summer. He will be approaching a year-old when he travels but will still be very much a puppy.
