Found freezing, abandoned and starving, little Topsy couldn’t survive on the streets for much longer. Now she’s a pretty, cuddly little girl looking for her forever home.

This pretty little girl was found by one our Turkish Committee members in Calis. She was only 6 months old and had been cast out and dumped in her garden. Topsy was freezing cold and covered in snow.

Pretty little Topsy

Forlorn, all alone, malnourished and starving, Topsy was a pitiful site and it was apparent she wouldn’t cope on the streets. Our Committee member couldn’t simply let her stay that way and took Topsy into her home where she fostered her short term until a space became available at our Halfway House sanctuary.

Imagine dumping this gorgeous little thing, leaving her to the elements!

Topsy has turned into a delightful, happy little girl who gets on with the other dogs and likes to play chase with them in the sanctuary garden. As the long Turkish Summer is so hot, when she’s had enough, she likes to take herself off to lay on the cool tiles of the house.

Topsy likes to play and has lots of energy

She has obviously lived in a home before and still does live with our Sanctuary Foster Carers from time to time and so Topsy is quite used to the home environment. She eats well and enjoys her food.

Taking a break in the shade

Topsy is not too good on the lead at the moment but this is a work in progress. Ongoing training would be needed and this will help to build a bond with any potential adopter.

She likes to sunbathe too

Topsy is not keen on cats, although she hasn’t been cat tested. We do think she would be suited to living with another dog if the correct introductions are made, although she would be equally happy being the only dog.

She is now approximately 16 months old and 15-16kg (July 2022). Even though she thinks she’s the boss, she’s very affectionate, strokes and cuddles are Topsy’s favourite things and she loves a good snuggle.

Topsy loves a cuddle

This tiny little girl is looking for a lap to cuddle up on, so if you think you could be Topsy’s new forever family, please check out what’s involved in taking on one of our rescue dogs by clicking this link and reading our Dog Adoption Policy guidelines.

A home check is always made and while there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a voluntary donation to help towards our costs.

If you want to register your interest in Topsy or are interested in providing a loving home for one of our rescue dogs in general then please complete and submit our Dog Adoption Registration form.
