Rescue pup Mabel just waiting for a home of her own in the UK

Young pup Mabel was facing an uncertain and scary future when we first came across her in the shelter.

She wasn’t quite eight months old when she found herself there and she had never truly experienced life on the streets with all its challenges and hardship.

Her early months had been spent under the protection of the Hayed Education Park in Calis before she was taken to the shelter to be neutered.

Her immediate future from there was to be taken out to an area that she had no knowledge or experience of and to be left there to fend for herself on the streets.

It was two AFOT supporters who became aware of her there and the bleak future that had been planned for her.

And it was they who came to AFOT to ask us to intervene in the hope of sparing Mabel from such an uncertain and dangerous future.

Dogs that are innocent of street life often find it hard to adjust and adapt when they are not born to it.

We were happy to oblige and so Mabel is now living happily in foster care in Turkey while we take the necessary steps to prepare her for transport to the UK.

We are hoping that a much happier and brighter future now awaits her in a new loving forever home of her own.

Mabel gets on well with the other dogs in foster care

Mabel is a typical young pup – playful, loving and inquisitive.

She gets on well with the other dogs in foster care and she happy to snuggle up on the sofa with them.

Mabel would have struggled to survive on the streets but thankfully she has been spared that

She is also good with cats it seems and she is now starting to siddle up to her foster Mummy in the evenings for a cuddle.

She enjoys her walks and for the moment she seems quite content with life.

She was extremely quite and timid when she first arrived at the foster home but she is showing signs of growing in confidence.

All we need now is for someone with a big enough heart and a space in their home for this lovely girl to come forward.

She should be ready to travel to the UK in late August or early September when she will be ready for her first birthday.
