Olive rescued from the side of a busy road

Olive was abandoned and found in a great deal of pain. Her life has been totally transformed as she is living the life she could never have dreamed of in Stoke-on-Trent. Here is her original story …

We do not know Olive’s full story but what we do know is that she is a sweet girl full of personality.

Olive was found lying at the the side of the main inter-city road outside Fethiye in a great deal of pain.

She was found by animal welfare volunteers who realised when they went to her side that she was actually struggling to give birth.

They tried to help but when they realised they couldn’t they scooped her up and rushed her to the vets.

There the vet soon realised that one of the pups had become stuck and by the time he saw her all her pups had sadly died.

Olive would have died too if those kind hearted volunteers had not gone to her aid.

Olive just melts the heart when you meet her

Olive is a cute Scottie-type cross who we estimate to be around four years old.

She was taken from the vets to the shelter and it was while was there that Animal Friends of Turkey was contacted and asked for help in rehoming her.

She seems to have recovered from her ordeal remarkably well and is already showing how much she loves being cared for.

Olive loves her fuss and is such an affectionate girl

She has now moved into the AFOT foster care network and work has already begun on preparing her for her journey to the UK in the early months of 2021.

She has been given a clean bill of health and is already thriving from the attention she is getting.

She is loving and very affectionate, and full of character. She is going to be the centre of someone’s world and this girl certainly deserves that.

Olive is around 60cms in length and 35cms in height.

We are still assessing her, as we do with all our dogs, and the conclusion we are reaching is that we believe that Olive would be best suited to a quiet home as an only pet.

She is fine with other dogs but it is clear that she much prefers human contact and that she will be happier in an environment where she gets lots of one-to-one attention.
