Sad Goldie Pippa is now learning to trust again
Labrador-cross Pippa is looking for that special person who can give her the time and love she needs.
Pippa was found feeling so sad and sorry for herself after being dumped outside a villa complex in Didim.
It looked as if she had recently been taken into the shelter where she had been neutered and returned straight to the streets.
It was clear that she had recently had a litter of pups and her stitches from the operation were still fresh.
She was covered in ticks and she seemed so forlorn and depressed. She should have been taken somewhere where she could be cared for while she recovered from the trauma of the operation and her lost litter.
She was spotted by a couple who took her in and then appealed for help in finding a future for her. She is now in AFOT care and the task has begun to find her the future she deserves.
When the couple first took in sweet Pippa she was absolutely terrified and it has taken her a while to start to trust again.
She is a lot more confident now during the day and her loving and joyful character is starting to blossom through.
She can still be a bit wary when it turns dark, which may be a symptom of a past trauma. However, this is improving and over time she will learn to feel less and less anxious.
Pippa is now around a year old and we expect her to be around 16-18 months old by the time she makes her journey to the UK.
She is a beautiful Labrador cross and she currently weighs in at around 22-24kg.
She is good on the lead with either harness or collar and she loves her fuss and attention.
She is great with other dogs and given the time, love and patience she needs she will be an absolute darling to have around.
We just need to find just the right person for her.
