Tiny Tani the rescue girl with a huge heart
Tiny Tani is a little scrap of a thing with a heart and a personality big enough to fill the Albert Hall.
This little girl with her distinctive Yoda-like ears came to us after being abandoned and dumped outside someone’s house in a village notorious for the cruelty shown to street dogs.
She was clearly not used to street life and would not have survived long there on her own so the couple whose house it was took her down to the local shelter.
That was no place for her and it was shortly after that she was spotted by an animal welfare volunteer who alerted us to Animal Friends of Turkey of her plight.
We agreed to take her into AFOT care and she was moved over to us after having spent around six weeks in the shelter.
She has been thriving there from the love she has been shown.
Tani is just over two years old. Quite clearly she is a Jack Russell cross and hardly much bigger than a cat.
She has a tail that just never stops wagging and all she wants is love and affection.
She is very much a lap dog and she likes nothing better than to hop up on to your knee when you are sitting down for good old scritching behind the ears and a belly rub.
She gets on well with other dogs although she can be a little bit jealous if she sees others getting attention but this will improve in time.
She eats well and she loves rolling around in the long grass, and she is great on the lead.
Tani is now being readied for her journey to the UK and we know she will make a tremendous companion and best friend for someone there.
What we really need now is to find just the right family for her.
So if you feel you could be that special person for Tani then please check out what’s involved in taking on one of our rescue dogs by clicking this link and reading our Dog Adoption Policy guidelines.
A home check is always made and while there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a donation with all our dogs to help towards our costs.
