Rescue pup Pearl is loving life now she is safe and cared for

Pearl is an absolute treasure who is lapping up life away from the streets and danger.

This beautiful girl is less than a year old and yet she has already seen so much in her short life.

This friendly and affectionate girl was one of four pups born in an area of Turkey notorious for the cruelty shown by locals towards street dogs.

Young pup Pearl has really blossomed in foster care

The four of them were found when they were tiny with their mother and all five were in bad shape.

They were taken to a nearby vets where sadly one of the pups passed away. The vet treated the rest before letting them go back out on to the streets again.

An animal volunteer operating in the area on the outskirts of Istanbul, who works closely with Animal Friends of Turkey, came across them and asked us if we could help.

The prospect for the three of them surviving in that area was low to non-existent and so we worked hard to find space in our foster network for them.

Pearl has a wonderfully calm and happy temperament

The volunteer then went out to try to catch them so they could be transported to Fethiye and into our care.

However, when she went to look there were only the two of them to be found and the third pup was nowhere to be seen.

Those two pups included Pearl and her brother Drake and they are now safe and sound living in homes with a foster carer.

Pearl loves her walks and is great on the lead

Pearl has really thrived and blossomed since coming into foster care.

She is quick to learn, loves to please and she has been a treasure to look after.

Her only real issue has been the fact that she cannot abide cats and goes crazy if she sees the resident cat in foster care.

We will naturally be looking for a cat-free home and at some point we will be testing her with children.

Pearl is waiting for her chance of happiness in her new home in the UK

She has a lovely and sunny personality and a calm and even temperament.

She is good on the lead and she loves her walks as one of the highlights of her day.

She is super friendly with other dogs and, just like her brother Drake, she is very sociable and playful.

We are now preparing her so she can be made ready for the journey across Europe to her new forever home in the UK. We expect her to be just over one years old when he ready for this.
