Sari found wandering alone in village where dogs are not welcome
Young Sari was found wandering the streets all alone and bewildered in a remote village in the East of Turkey.
She was spotted by an active animal welfare volunteer who watches out for dogs in an area notorious for being unwelcoming to street dogs.
Sari was only around three months old and the volunteer hunted around for any signs of Sari’s mother but without any luck.
Eventually she gave up and decided to take Sari off and found her a temporary home with her Mum and Dad.
She was safe there for a while but she could not stay there, and so she contacted Animal Friends of Turkey for help.
We have now arranged for Sari’s safe passage from the east of the country across to Fethiye and into the safety of our foster care network.
Sari is a typical boisterous and happy puppy who seems happy to have found someone who will care for her.
Typical for a puppy of her age she has been pinching Mum and Dad’s slippers and running off with them for a quick chew.
Now she is with us in foster care we will start the work of preparing her for travel to the UK.
We expect her to be ready in the early part of 2021.
Sari loves to scamper around and play and she is great with other dogs and also with cats.
We will be arranging for her to be tested with children as well now she is in our care.
The main thing now is to be find the right home for her with a loving family that can give her the security and TLC she needs.
