Beautiful rescue Boxer dog Drogon finds love in the UK
Beautiful Boxer Drogon is still a baby who is only now learning that there is true love and affection to be had in this world.
Drogon – named after the last surviving Dragon in Game of Thrones – is less than 18 months old.
Until we came across him his life had been one spent tied up with heavy winch chains on the back of a flat bed truck.
The chains were so heavy and tight around his neck he could barely move.
His owner was a huge brute of man with clearly not an ounce of compassion or love in his bones.
In the end he tired of Drogon and he took him and dumped him like a discarded toy at a local shelter.
Once he was there he came across the radar of Animal Friends of Turkey and we stepped in to offer help for him.
We moved him from the shelter to one of our most experienced foster carers where the work of rehabilitating him is already under way.
In his first few weeks there it became clearly apparent that Drogon had suffered physical abuse before being abandoned at the shelter.
However, despite this the one thing that is also clear is that he still loved humans and human company and there was nothing he loved more than cuddles and affection.
We knew we needed to find someone really special for Drogon.
We needed someone who understood Boxers and who understood what Drogon had been threw and what he needed.
We are delighted to say we found that very person and that very family and Drogon is now surrounded with love and happiness.
We could not be more delighted for him as he is a gorgeous boy. Deep down he is very much a Boxer with all those lovable Boxer traits.
He has been tested and shown to be child friendly but because he is still very energetic and boisterous we are recommending that any home with children be early teens or older.
Drogon is responded well to training and and very well to one-to-one interaction.
He needs good walks and exercise and, just like any Boxer, he will need a comfy bed and lots of love and tender care and attention.
