Loving Mary has had her sad life transformed with love and TLC
If you know and love Boxers as we know so many people do then beautiful Mary could be just the dog for you.
We do not know Mary’s full back story but we do know that she was found at Christmas time in the most pitiful state on the streets of Turkey.
She was found by animal welfare volunteers who were convinced that without help Mary would have died out there.
She was emaciated, starving and flea ridden and there was evidence that she had been used for breeding and, we suspect, dumped.
She was taken to a shelter and the volunteers then approached Animal Friends of Turkey for help in securing a better future for her.
We organised for her to go into foster care in Turkey and then we reached out to our friends in the Buddy’s dog rescue that focuses solely on the rescue of abandoned Boxers.
Our supporters have joined forces with Buddy’s own to raise the funds to cover everything required to fund her travel to the UK.
Mary has grown in strength, in health and in confidence since she was rescued from the streets at Christmas.
She made the move to the UK and was in foster care in a loving home with an experienced Boxer owner, while together with Buddy’s we sought the right permanent home for her.
We took our time to find the right match and happily we eventually found the perfect family for her.
Mary is estimated to be around four-years old and while she is on the small side for a Boxer she is very strong and full of energy.
In a lot of ways she is so typical of her breed in that she has a lovely nature.
She is fun, friendly, loving and soppy and she loves nothing more than having cuddles and kisses. Like every Boxer she loves the bed and the sofa where she can just flop out.
Mary likes strong male dogs and gets on well with them. However, she does not like small dogs, female dogs and cats.
She has lots of energy and so we feel she could be too boisterous initially around small children. However, in a household with children with ages of 13 upwards she would be fine.
Our task for Mary was to find her a home that is experienced and familiar with Boxers and that is cat free and small child free.
A dog free home would work as would a home with a male Boxer or Boxers. We found just what she needed and she is beginning to grow in confidence.
Mary is such a beautiful and loving girl and she will make a wonderful friend and companion.
