Abandoned Roni is a loving softie lapping up his chance of happiness
Roni was rejected twice before finally finding his way to AFOT. Now he is happy and safe with his new family in Wiltshire. Here is his original story …
There was something familiar about this young pup when he was spotted wandering the streets of Fethiye in a bewildered state.
He was spotted by animal lovers who recognised him almost immediately as one of five tiny pups that had been rescued just a few months before.
The five pups and their mum were taken in and one or two including Roni were almost immediately offered homes by local people.
The family that took him appeared to be responsible and caring people but unfortunately this did not turn out to be the case.
As happens far too often in Turkey when puppies lose their tiny pup charm his owners began to lose interest until the day came they decided to turf him out on the streets.
Dogs that have known life within a home find it extremely hard to cope with the suddent realities of life on the streets where you have to scrap for your very existence.
When he was found he was around six months old, was so forlorn and was in a sad and sorry state.
He was un-neutered, grubby and starving and clearly not coping with the new life he had been subjected to.
The animal volunteers could not leave him there and so took him in as a foster with the hope of finding a permanent and safe home for him.
It was not long after this that they turned to Animal Friends of Turkey for help in finding a permanent forever home for Roni where he could feel safe.
Now he is safe and in foster care this young lad is thriving.
He is a lovely boy and a real softie who loves nothing better than fuss and affection.
He gets on well with all the other dogs, loves his walkies and is great on a lead.
He has short legs and around the size of a Cocker Spaniel, and he is a very cheeky chappie.
We are now looking for just the right home where Roni can feel special, feel loved, feel safe and wanted. He deserves the real deal second time around.
