Funny girl Lucy just lights up the room

Lucy was a tiny pup when she was rescued with her siblings. She is tiny no more and she is now happy in her new forever home with a family in Kent. Here is her original story:

To look at Lucy today you would not think she had a care in the world.

She is a playful and daft girl who is just loving life at the moment.

To look at her now you would never guess for a minute the sad cruel life this young pup had when she was rescued.

Lucy is still a pup but will grow into a big girl

She is loving life in foster care and she makes her carers laugh constantly with her antics and funny little ways.

She is quite a small girl now but she will not remain that way as it is clear she will grow into a big girl.

She is a playful girl who loves the other dogs in care

She has been tested with children and come through that test with flying colours as she loves being with them.

Lucy was one of five pups being hounded out of a remote village with their mum because they were regarded as dirty and vermin.

The five were found in terrible straits with their brave mother Ava who was doing everything she could to protect them.

Dogs in the East Turkish town where they were found are often snatched and dumped high up in the mountains where they have next to no chance of surviving.

Others are stoned and persecuted and it is not uncommon to find dogs who have been poisoned.

A little chill time in the garden for Lucy

This is the world that Lucy and her siblings had come into and it was very scary indeed.

Luckily for Ava and her pups they were found by a woman who does amazing work over there to protect the dogs despite being shouted at by the locals.

Canine angel Ozgul works tirelessly as an animal welfare volunteer over there and she regularly reaches out to Animal Friends of Turkey if she has an urgent case that needs our help.

Lucy is a happy girl and loves life in general

She managed to sneak Mum and pups into her garden without anyone seeing her but it was obvious they could not stay there.

She contacted us and within days we had all six of them transported out of there and brought the 700-kilometres west to go into our foster care network in Fethiye.

Lucy and family were all found starving and in poor condition when they were found.

Happily she, her Mum and her siblings are now all now doing really well being cared for in their new homes.

Lucy will be approaching a year old by the time she is ready to travel later this year.

We are now trying to find homes for all five pups and Mum and we do not think we will have too much trouble because they are adorable.
