Lost and abandoned Tilly is now safe and sound and happy

Tilly was born surrounded by cruelty and danger until she was rescued. Today she is happy and living her new transformed life in North Yorkshire. Here is her original story:

Tilly’s story could have been copied from the pages of the children’s story book Bambi.

She was born in a remote village in the East of Turkey where villagers regard street dogs as dirty vermin they need to be rid of.

Street dogs there are often snatched and dumped in the mountains where they have little chance of surviving or they are poisoned.

Tilly is gorgeous playful pup who will fill a home with happiness

We suspect one of these two fates met Tilly’s mother and Tilly was left alone at just three months old after her siblings died.

This is how she was found by a wonderful caring animal welfare worker we know who lives in that area.

Tilly is thriving in foster care where she is being readied for travel to the UK

This lady has saved a number of dogs and she has often asked for our help in threatened dogs out of there and into homes.

When she found Tilly she contacted us again and we were happy to help.

She arranged for Tilly to be transported west into our foster care network in Fethiye where she has blossomed into the most glorious young lady.

Tilly is not yet finished her growing yet and she is going to be a big girl as we suspect that she has some of the famous Turkish Kangal shepherd dog breed in her.

She has been a darling ever since she came into our care and is so grateful for the love and affection she is now receiving.

Tilly will need lots of exercise and she loves her walks

She is going through that puppy biting stage at the moment but she will soon move on from that.

She is extremely bright and she will be a loyal and loving company. She is a playful, funny girl who is just bouncing with happiness.

Tilly is a smiley girl who is always happy these days

Her Kangal side will mean she will need lots of long walks and exercise and she would benefit from access to the countryside or large open spaces. A large garden would be handy for her.

Tilly is an affectionate girl

She is very playful and so far has been very good with the other dogs and the cats.

She has also been great with the children including even with toddlers, although we have a policy not to rehome our dogs with resident children under the age of five.

At the moment she wants to play with the cats a little too much for their liking but it’s all good natured.

Tilly is such a sweet girl who deserves her chance of happiness in the UK

She is not quite yet a lovey, dovey dog but she craves human contact and will always come and just sit or lie at the feet of her foster carer whenever she can.

We think she would enjoy an active home and this gorgeous girl is going to make someone very happy indeed.

Tilly is great with other dogs and cats

She has now come to the age where we can get her ready for travel to the UK and she has already embarked on the steps needed for this.

She will be approaching a year old when she travels later this year.

Tilly will grow into quite a big girl on account of her Kangal-cross ancestry

What we need now is the right home for her.
