Pretty Polly the brave Mum is finally getting some TLC of her own

This brave Mum who protected her baby in the most appalling conditions is now safe, happy and living the life of her dreams in Nottinghamshire. Here is her original story …

Polly is the sweetest, kindest and most loving of dogs you could ever care to meet.

Today she is a healthy, bubbly girl who is so full of life and energy but it was not always this way for this beauty.

Polly was found earlier this year huddled and frail and lying in freezing conditions with her young pup inside a derelict house in Çalış near Fethiye.

Pretty Polly is now back to full health and life

She was starving and absolutely terrified when she was found by a Turkish lady who had heard some noises inside and went to investigate.

Through a friend she alerted Animal Friends of Turkey and asked our help.

We took them both in and we immediately got them both round to the vet for a full check up.

Polly’s puppy Precious was thankfully OK and it was clear that Polly had given everything of herself that she could to keep her baby safe, warm and fed even if it was at her own cost.

Polly herself was not so good as she was dreadfully underweight, clearly anaemic and neglected, and it was obvious she had not eaten in a very long time.

We got her straight into our foster care network and the work then began to bolster them up and keep them safe.

Polly has grown into a sweet and lovely girl

A few months have now passed and Polly has made a full recovery and is doing well. She has gradually healed and is showing good signs of finally learning to trust.

We believe Polly is now between two and three years old and she is now ready to make her own journey to the UK and to a forever home of her own where she will feel loved and safe.

Thankfully we have already found a home for her baby Precious who is also now waiting to make that same journey.
