Daisy and her family saved from villagers who regarded her as vermin

Daisy – now known as Amber – and her sibling pups were rescued from a life of hell. How her life has transformed now that she is living in the lap of luxury in her new forever home in Aberdeen. Here is her original story:

Playful and inquisitive Daisy is a loyal and loving young girl.

This doe-eyed and sometimes clumsy girl is still growing and she will grow much bigger given her Anatolian shepherd dog heritage.

She is currently in foster care and loving life there. She is nosey and inquisitive to the extreme and very playful.

Daisy is a loyal and loving girl

She loves her attention and she is growing in confidence all the time.

She is a very calm girl and she never wants to stay too far away from her foster carers and is happy to sit at their feet.

She happily walks out in front on walks and she shows no fear or wariness when meeting other people of other dogs.

Who could resist such a gorgeous face

She goes off lead but will always ensure she keeps you in sight.

Daisy was one of five pups being hounded out of a remote village with their mum because they were regarded as dirty and vermin.

The five were found in terrible straits with their brave mother Ava who was doing everything she could to protect them.

Daisy will be quite a tall girl once fully grown

Dogs in the East Turkish town where they were found are often snatched and dumped high up in the mountains where they have next to no chance of surviving.

Others are stoned and persecuted and it is not uncommon to find dogs who have been poisoned.

This is the world that Daisy and her siblings had come into and it was very scary indeed.

Daisy is a sweet and loving pup

Luckily for Ava and her pups they were found by a woman who does amazing work over there to protect the dogs despite being shouted at by the locals.

Canine angel Ozgul works tirelessly as an animal welfare volunteer over there and she regularly reaches out to Animal Friends of Turkey if she has an urgent case that needs our help.

She managed to sneak Mum and pups into her garden without anyone seeing her but it was obvious they could not stay there.

She contacted us and within days we had all six of them transported out of there and brought the 700-kilometres west to go into our foster care network in Fethiye.

Daisy and family were all found starving and in poor condition when they were found.

Happily she, her Mum and her siblings are now all now doing really well being cared for in their new homes.

We are now trying to find homes for all five pups and Mum and we do not think we will have too much trouble because they are adorable.
