Poor dog rehomed only to be then abandoned
Meet Numa the scruffy terrier who has already arrived here in the UK from Turkey and who is now looking for a new forever home.
Numa is a small but lively rescue dog whose story began with life living on the streets and the beach in Turkey.
He was first spotted on the beach by a Turkish lady who became really concerned when she saw him being attacked by other dogs.
He was obviously struggling to cope on his own and she felt he needed help.
She took him home and desperately tried to find someone who would give him a home but she struggled to find anyone.
Reluctantly she took him back to the beach but one of her Facebook appeals was eventually seen by a UK lady who agreed to offer him a home in the UK.
Arrangements were made to get Numa transported to the UK and all seemed to go according to plan.
However, on his second day in the UK his new owner decided that she no longer wanted him and sought to abandon him.
This was when Animal Friends of Turkey stepped in and the first thing we needed to do was find this handsome young boy a foster home in the UK.
We found one with the help of our many supporters and he moved into a home with a number of other rescue dogs and he is doing fine although he is not surprisingly very mixed up and confused.
Numa is estimated to be three years old and it is assumed that he must have been owned at some point in the past in Turkey.
He has bad collar marks which makes us think that at some point he was left tied up.
He is loving being part of a bigger group of dogs in his foster home and he doesn’t chase cats. We feel he would be absolutely fine with older children.
He is living in a house with a young child and he is fine with him but it has to be said that the child is experienced around dogs and knows to treat them with respect.
He is a lively young rescue dog who would benefit from finding a home with an experienced dog owner.
He is quite feisty and will need firm handling alongside oodles of love, kindness and understanding.
