Playful rescue dog Lucy waiting for her new forever home in the UK
Lucy is a tiny playful little girl with the sunniest of personalities.
She is now around two years old and is about the size of a Yorkshire Terrier.
We are convinced that Lucy spent her life from birth living in someone’s home but somehow found herself dumped out on the streets.
She suddenly turned up one day outside a bar on one of the busiest roads in Calis, Fethiye.
She had absolutely no road sense and it is a wonder that she did not get herself involved in a serious accident.
It was also clear that she could not remain there on her own among the larger street dogs that she perceived as a constant threat. She was a target for bullying.
Fortunately the owners of the nearby Cahide bar kept an eye on her and fed her.
It was then that a longstanding AFOT supporter approached us to ask for our help.
We took Lucy into foster care and were delighted to accept the offer from this supporter of help towards her veterinary and transport costs.
Lucy is now well settled into her foster home living quite happily among the other dogs and the multitude of cats that live there.
She loves to play with her toys and she also loves to curl up in her favourite chair for cuddles and affection.
She is much happier now she is away from the streets.
Our task now though is to find a permanent loving home for her in the UK. We feel sure she will be the ideal companion for someone out there.
So if you feel you could be that special person for Lucy then please check out what’s involved in taking on one of our rescue dogs by clicking this link and reading our Dog Adoption Policy guidelines.
