Stella is a gorgeous, fun-loving girl who was found alone in the mountains near a tourist town, far from food, water, or safety. It’s likely she was once a hunting dog and was abandoned when her owner discovered she was pregnant. She was taken to safety and spayed before the pregnancy could progress, and after her recovery, her rescuer did their best to protect her on the streets. But Stella wasn’t coping well with stray life, and it was clear she needed more — so she joined the AFOT family in spring 2024.
Stella is a cheerful, affectionate and playful dog with a scruffy terrier coat, bright eyes, and a white moustache that gives her the sweetest expression. She is very people-focused and loves cuddles and attention. She is gentle and affectionate, happily greeting new people and walking confidently on the lead. She adores children and would enjoy a home with a family who can include her in daily life.
She is energetic and loves to play, particularly with younger dogs who enjoy a rough-and-tumble style. Stella barks when she plays, which can sometimes be a bit much for quieter dogs, but she is not aggressive — just enthusiastic. She is very social and happiest when she has space to run and someone to chase around with.
As a former hunting dog, Stella does have a prey drive and is not suitable to live with cats or small animals. She may try to chase birds and should be kept on a lead in unsecured areas. Her future family should be mindful of this and continue to guide her gently with patience and care.
Stella would thrive in a home where she can enjoy daily walks, play sessions, and lots of human interaction. She is a loyal, intelligent girl who just wants to be loved — and she has so much love to give in return.
All our dogs, including Stella, are tested for Brucella, Leishmaniasis, Anaplasma, Heartworm, and E-Canis before travel. Signed vet certificates and results will be provided.
Stella is ready to travel to the UK. She’s full of hope, full of love, and ready to find her forever family. If you think you might be the one to give her that second chance, please get in touch.
If you can offer Stella the forever home she deserves, please take a look at our adoption process via Adopting With AFOT, where you’ll find everything you need to get started, including our adoption form. A home check is always carried out, and while there’s no fixed adoption fee, we do kindly ask for a voluntary donation to help with our ongoing rescue efforts.
