FLO

Sex: Female
Age: 3 Years 9 Months (Nov 2024)
Size: Large (34kg)
Location: UK Foster Home (Available for Visits)
Needs: A patient, loving home with plenty of exercise and socialization

Flo is a sweet girl with a heart of gold, waiting for a home where she can truly flourish. Rescued as a young pup, Flo and her littermates were saved from a dire situation where their mother had stopped feeding them. They were taken into care, but it wasn’t long before they were transferred to Animal Friends of Turkey (AFOT), as the initial rescue struggled to find them homes.

Flo is now in the UK and has settled really well in her foster home. She’s come a long way since her early, isolated days and has grown more confident, though she still can be shy and wary of new people. Once she builds trust, Flo is loyal and affectionate, making her an incredibly loving companion. She’s the perfect example of resilience and growth!

She is very dog-friendly and enjoys playing with other dogs, but Flo will need a patient owner who understands that she needs time to adjust to new situations. She’s great on a lead, walks nicely, and is very gentle with her food. Flo thrives in a calm, consistent environment where she can continue to build her confidence. With time and the right guidance, Flo will flourish into the stunning, loyal companion she was always meant to be.

Flo has been waiting for her forever home for quite some time, and now that she’s in the UK, it’s her time to shine. We’re looking for a home that can give her the time, attention, and patience she deserves, with regular exercise and a chance to socialize and grow in confidence. She could live with other dogs (which we would prefer) or be an only dog, as long as she gets plenty of interaction with others.

At 3 years and 9 months old, Flo is ready to find her forever home. She’s neutered, vaccinated, and chipped, and she’s available for visits in the UK starting November 2024. A home check is required, and while there’s no adoption fee, we kindly ask for a voluntary donation to help with rescue costs.

Flo is currently in the UK, but we’ll assist with her adoption process, and she will be tested for Brucella, Leishmaniasis, Anaplasma, Heartworm, and E-Canis before any travel. Proof of testing and vet letters will be provided to the adopter.

Could you be the one to offer Flo the loving home she’s been waiting for?

If you think you could offer Flo the life and forever home she deserves, please check out our adoption process via Adopting With AFOT. There, you’ll find everything you need to get started, including our adoption form. A home check is always carried out, and while there’s no fixed adoption fee, we do kindly ask for a voluntary donation to help with our ongoing rescue efforts.

Important Information

All our dogs will be tested prior to leaving Turkey for the following diseases:

BRUCELLA
LEISHMANIAS
ANAPLASMA
HEARTWORM
E-CANIS

Proof of tests and accompanying signed vet letters will be sent to adopter.

A home check is always made.

We provide a lifetime rescue back up (RBU) and work to DEFRA guidelines.

While there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a voluntary donation to help towards our costs of between £595-£795. Each dog costs us on average £2500-£3000 to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome and our adoption donation is only a small proportion of this.

We rely solely on fundraising for the remainder plus any emergency treatment needed to help these abused, neglected and abandoned animals which are often in horrific condition and desperate need when they come into AFOT care.

Every penny we raise goes towards rescuing another dog, so even if you decide not to rehome one of our dogs today, please consider a donation so that we can continue to rescue another dog in the future.
