BRANDY

Sex: Female
Age: 1 Year (Feb 2026)
Size: Medium (13 kg)
Location: Turkey
Needs: A calm, stable home where she can feel safe and loved.

Brandy is one of 12 dogs we rescued from a government shelter, a place where very few dogs make it out alive.

Brandy is a sweet, soft-natured dog, who never causes any trouble. She listens well, walks well on the lead, and doesn’t try to defend her food from the other dogs in the kennels. She is very low-maintenance and doesn’t ask for much. She has a gentle nature, and never puts up a fuss.

Brandy is such a good girl and is wonderfully behaved, but she is timid and she will need her adopters’ help and guidance to build up her self-confidence. She is very shy around strangers and it takes her a while to build up trust with new people. Once she gets to know you, she is very friendly and happily comes up to get strokes and cuddles.

It is very important that Brandy’s adopters don’t try to rush or push her, as she easily gets overwhelmed. Brandy thrives in calm, stable environments, where she can feel safe and she can come out of her shell at her own pace.

Brandy is very friendly towards other dogs and gets along with all the other dogs in the kennels. She would greatly benefit from having another stable, social, confident dog in the home. Brandy is also very friendly towards cats.

This sweet girl doesn’t ask for much, all she wants is a soft bed, a safe, calm home, and patient, loving adopters, and Brandy will be the happiest dog in the world!

Important Information

All our dogs will be tested prior to leaving Turkey for the following diseases:

BRUCELLA
LEISHMANIAS
ANAPLASMA
HEARTWORM
E-CANIS

Proof of tests and accompanying signed vet letters will be sent to adopter.

A home check is always made.

We provide a lifetime rescue back up (RBU) and work to DEFRA guidelines.

While there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a voluntary donation to help towards our costs of between £595-£795. Each dog costs us on average £2500-£3000 to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome and our adoption donation is only a small proportion of this.

We rely solely on fundraising for the remainder plus any emergency treatment needed to help these abused, neglected and abandoned animals which are often in horrific condition and desperate need when they come into AFOT care.

Every penny we raise goes towards rescuing another dog, so even if you decide not to rehome one of our dogs today, please consider a donation so that we can continue to rescue another dog in the future.
