SNOWY

Sex: Female
Age: 4 Years (March 2026)
Size: Medium (19 kg)
Location: SW Turkey

Snowy was found by a caring animal lover as a young dog, many hours away in the Mersin region of Turkey. In terrible condition, starving, emaciated, with no energy, literally on her last legs, she had been trying to survive in the difficult mountainous area and was failing…. Snowy travelled to the Fethiye area where she spent a happy 10 months living in a sanctuary. Sadly she found herself in the local council shelter after the sanctuary was closed down where we were alerted to her. Snowy was heavily depressed, totally shut down, was not interacting at all, heavily neglected and once again needed help.

Snowy came into our care in November 25 after spending a very hard month in the shelter, her filthy matted coat was trimmed and after a few days she has never looked back.

What a great dog Snowy is, a total diamond, easy going, placid, she is excellent with other dogs and so friendly with people . She is affectionate and fun and will be a wonderful addition to any family.

She listens, walks well on the lead & follows commands, she is quite simply ‘ a joy of a dog’ gorgeous looking with a lovely heart she’s easy to fall in love with, of medium size on the small size of medium she is easily manageable but will need that lovely coat with her ringlets taking good care of to keep her looking pretty!

Snowy is neutered, vaccinated, chipped, and has been tested for Brucella, Leishmaniasis, Anaplasma, Heartworm, and E-Canis before leaving Turkey along with proof of testing and signed vet letters.
If you think you could offer Snowy the forever home she’s been waiting for, please check out our adoption process via Adopting With AFOT. There, you’ll find everything you need to get started, including our adoption form. A home check is always carried out, and while there’s no fixed adoption fee, we do kindly ask for a voluntary donation to help with our ongoing rescue efforts.

Important Information

All our dogs will be tested prior to leaving Turkey for the following diseases:

BRUCELLA
LEISHMANIAS
ANAPLASMA
HEARTWORM
E-CANIS

Proof of tests and accompanying signed vet letters will be sent to adopter.

A home check is always made.

We provide a lifetime rescue back up (RBU) and work to DEFRA guidelines.

While there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a voluntary donation to help towards our costs of between £595-£795. Each dog costs us on average £2500-£3000 to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome and our adoption donation is only a small proportion of this.

We rely solely on fundraising for the remainder plus any emergency treatment needed to help these abused, neglected and abandoned animals which are often in horrific condition and desperate need when they come into AFOT care.

Every penny we raise goes towards rescuing another dog, so even if you decide not to rehome one of our dogs today, please consider a donation so that we can continue to rescue another dog in the future.
