This rescued dog is dreaming of a new forever home

Brave Beren has so much love to offer some special someone prepared to offer him the love and patient care he needs.

Beren is a young rescue dog who has not always known kindness but he is now responding so well to some love and care in his foster home.

This little dog was found and rescued near a beach club in Calis, Fethiye, by a family from England enjoying their holiday.

Beren is a lovely boy in need of a loving home

They spotted that he was limping quite badly and in obvious need of help, and thanks to their intervention Beren – as they named him – is now safe and well.

We believe that Beren was badly treated in his early life and indeed he was found to have had a dislocated knee and torn ligaments when taken off the streets.

The family came to Animal Friends of Turkey to ask for our help and we did not hesitate. We funded his veterinary care, found him a loving foster home and now he is ready to travel to the right home in the UK.

Beren is a rescue dog waiting for his chance of a forever home in the UK

Beren received excellent veterinary care and has made a full physical recovery.  He remains a little wary on first meeting new people because of the past cruelty he has experienced.

However, once he gets beyond this he is absolutely fine.  He lives with other dogs and while wary with these at first he now really enjoys their companionship.

His treatment and ongoing care has only been possible thanks to the generosity of the army of supporters who continue to make small but regular donations to help us with our work. The Jackson family have also donated substantially to help him.

We asked the Jackson family to name him and they chose Beren as Beren means ‘Bold’ in Elvish, and is taken from Tolkein’s ‘Lord of the Rings’.  We think he really suits his name.

Beren is neutered and chipped a lovely gentle dog, good with other dogs, eager to please, he will make someone a great family pet.

We especially think that Beren would suit a retired person or couple who can afford him the time and patience he needs to improve his confidence and trust.

The reward that awaits them would be immense.
