BOBO

Sex: Male
Age: Approx. 6 years (Feb 2025)
Size: Medium (approx. 25 kg)
Energy level: Medium
Good with: Other dogs (male & female), friendly with people
Location: Turkey (ready to travel)
Needs: A loving home where he can finally relax and be safe

Bobo has lived through one of the harshest realities imaginable. Once someone’s pet, he was abandoned and left in one of Turkey’s worst shelters — a place where dogs are barely fed, receive no care, and are only visited by staff a few times a week. Among hundreds of desperate dogs, Bobo would sit quietly by the fence, locking eyes with the volunteers every time they visited, silently pleading for help.

He never stopped watching, never gave up hope.
And eventually, he was noticed — and saved.

Now safe in the Melez Rescue enclosure, Bobo has flourished. His kind, gentle soul has shone through, and it’s clear that this boy is something special. Bobo is a big teddy bear – affectionate, calm, and so full of love. He gets along beautifully with other dogs, and they love being around him too – whether it’s playtime or cuddle time in the sunshine.

With his spaniel-like markings, soulful eyes, and sweet, trusting face, Bobo is a real heart-stealer. He’s incredibly people-friendly and loves nothing more than cuddles and affection. Always one of the first to greet visitors, he just wants to be loved – and give love in return.

Bobo is confident on the lead, good in the car, and enjoys going on walks. Outdoors, he’s relaxed and calm – especially when he gets to sunbathe! He’s playful, social, and incredibly charming. This boy is ready to leave his painful past behind and begin his new life as a cherished family member.

He’d suit a wide range of homes – from those with other dogs to a calm household where he can be doted on as the centre of attention. Bobo has been through hell and come out the other side with his spirit intact. Now he’s just waiting for his bit of heaven.

If you can offer Bobo the forever home he deserves, please take a look at our adoption process via Adopting With AFOT, where you’ll find everything you need to get started, including our adoption form. A home check is always carried out, and while there’s no fixed adoption fee, we do kindly ask for a voluntary donation to help with our ongoing rescue efforts.

All our dogs are tested prior to leaving Turkey for:
Brucella, Leishmaniasis, Anaplasma, Heartworm, and E-Canis.
Test results and vet-signed certificates are provided to adopters.

Bobo is ready for love, cuddles, and a life of comfort — could you be the one to give him that?

Important Information

All our dogs will be tested prior to leaving Turkey for the following diseases:

BRUCELLA
LEISHMANIAS
ANAPLASMA
HEARTWORM
E-CANIS

Proof of tests and accompanying signed vet letters will be sent to adopter.

A home check is always made.

We provide a lifetime rescue back up (RBU) and work to DEFRA guidelines.

While there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a voluntary donation to help towards our costs of between £595-£795. Each dog costs us on average £2500-£3000 to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome and our adoption donation is only a small proportion of this.

We rely solely on fundraising for the remainder plus any emergency treatment needed to help these abused, neglected and abandoned animals which are often in horrific condition and desperate need when they come into AFOT care.

Every penny we raise goes towards rescuing another dog, so even if you decide not to rehome one of our dogs today, please consider a donation so that we can continue to rescue another dog in the future.
