Meet Cesar – a happy, affectionate, easy-going dog who has gone his whole life without a proper home, but who so deserves to spend the rest of his life living in comfort and peace!

Cesar is one of 12 dogs we rescued from a government shelter, a place where very few dogs make it out alive.

There is never a dull moment with Cesar! He may be middle-aged, but he is far from being a boring old man. He is a somewhat of a celebrity in the kennels, and is most famous for his love of sleeping on top of the wooden dog houses, never mind how uncomfortable this may be!
Cesar is very playful and loves rolling around on soft blankets, chewing on chew toys, and splashing around in paddling pools.

Cesar is a very social dog who lives in a busy enclosure with lots of other dogs, and gets along with all of them wonderfully. You can tell he is used to being the only dog in his environment, and he spends most of his time entertaining himself by exploring the enclosure and sniffing all the new smells of the day, or snoozing in the sunshine on top of one of the dog houses, but he will also occassionally play with the other dogs.

When we first got Cesar from the government shelter, he strongly felt the need to protect his food from the other dogs. This has gotten better over time, and he can now sometimes be found sharing his foodbowl with some of the smaller females in his group.

Cesar walks well on the lead and is confident outside of the enclosure. He loves exploring and would very much enjoy being able to go for long walks in nature.

Cesar is an affectionate dog, who is always happy to see you and excitedly runs up to the kennel workers to greet them every morning. He has a cheerful character, and likes getting attention and cuddles. He can be a little wary of men, and keeps his distance at first, until he has had a calm introduction and realises that there is no danger. He never displays any defensive behaviour. If he is unsure of what to do, he will hang back and observe at first.

This cheerful, quirky boy is sure to bring so much love, happiness and laughter to his new home!

Important Information

All our dogs will be tested prior to leaving Turkey for the following diseases:

BRUCELLA
LEISHMANIAS
ANAPLASMA
HEARTWORM
E-CANIS

Proof of tests and accompanying signed vet letters will be sent to adopter.

A home check is always made.

We provide a lifetime rescue back up (RBU) and work to DEFRA guidelines.

While there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a voluntary donation to help towards our costs of between £595-£795. Each dog costs us on average £2500-£3000 to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome and our adoption donation is only a small proportion of this.

We rely solely on fundraising for the remainder plus any emergency treatment needed to help these abused, neglected and abandoned animals which are often in horrific condition and desperate need when they come into AFOT care.

Every penny we raise goes towards rescuing another dog, so even if you decide not to rehome one of our dogs today, please consider a donation so that we can continue to rescue another dog in the future.
