CLYDE

Sex: Male
Age: 2 Years 10 Months (Nov 2024)
Size: Medium/Large (25 kg)
Location: Currently in Turkey, awaiting adoption
Needs: A home with space to run and socialization

Clyde is a lovable and energetic boy who was born in Turkey alongside his sister Bonnie to their young mum, Lulu. Like his family, Clyde has an incredibly friendly, well-balanced nature, and he’s full of love. He’s a large dog, weighing 25kg, and has a sleek Labrador mix build, with a glossy brown and black coat that changes color with the seasons — brown in the summer and black in the winter. He has three white paws and one black paw, making him an even more striking sight.

Clyde is a very social and friendly dog, and he gets along with all other dogs, regardless of their size, gender, or breed. He has also been tested with cats and is cat-friendly. Clyde’s ideal home will be one with plenty of space for him to run and burn off his energy. He loves to play and is constantly bounding around, only slowing down when he sees the treat tin. His energy and zest for life will make him a great addition to an active family. However, he will benefit from some basic training to help channel his enthusiasm into positive behaviors. He loves learning through play, and a few tasty treats as rewards will go a long way in building his skills.

Clyde is still a little shy of strangers, especially in new environments, but once he trusts you, he’s a true affectionate companion. His tail is constantly wagging when he’s getting attention, and he loves cuddles and kisses. Despite being a little reserved at first, he warms up quickly and becomes a loyal and loving friend.

Clyde is well-behaved on a lead, and although he’s playful and energetic, he walks well with his humans. He’s in great health and loves to eat — he’s thriving on his current diet, and his coat has become glossy and shiny since coming into care.

This handsome boy can be rehomed as an only dog or with other dogs. He will need a family that is understanding of his need for gradual socialization, as his early life was spent in a quiet sanctuary, and the outside world may be overwhelming at first. He will flourish in a home that can offer him the space, love, and exercise he needs to thrive.

Clyde has a wonderful temperament, and with time and patience, he will become an even more confident and affectionate companion. He’s a playful, happy dog who is sure to make his adopters feel incredibly lucky. If you’re an energetic family looking for a fun-loving buddy to join your pack, Clyde could be the perfect fit for you.

Clyde is currently awaiting his forever family in Turkey, and all dogs are tested for Brucella, Leishmaniasis, Anaplasma, Heartworm, and E-Canis before travel. The adopter will receive proof of testing and signed vet letters.

If you think you can offer Clyde the loving home he deserves, please consider adopting him. A home check is required, and while there is no adoption fee, a voluntary donation to help with rescue costs is appreciated.

Clyde is waiting for a special family to give him the life he deserves.

If you can offer Clyde the forever home he deserves, please take a look at our adoption process via Adopting With AFOT, where you’ll find everything you need to get started, including our adoption form. A home check is always carried out, and while there’s no fixed adoption fee, we do kindly ask for a voluntary donation to help with our ongoing rescue efforts.

Important Information

All our dogs will be tested prior to leaving Turkey for the following diseases:

BRUCELLA
LEISHMANIAS
ANAPLASMA
HEARTWORM
E-CANIS

Proof of tests and accompanying signed vet letters will be sent to adopter.

A home check is always made.

We provide a lifetime rescue back up (RBU) and work to DEFRA guidelines.

While there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a voluntary donation to help towards our costs of between £595-£795. Each dog costs us on average £2500-£3000 to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome and our adoption donation is only a small proportion of this.

We rely solely on fundraising for the remainder plus any emergency treatment needed to help these abused, neglected and abandoned animals which are often in horrific condition and desperate need when they come into AFOT care.

Every penny we raise goes towards rescuing another dog, so even if you decide not to rehome one of our dogs today, please consider a donation so that we can continue to rescue another dog in the future.
