FRANKIE

Sex: Male
Age: 3 Years 9 Months (Nov 2024)
Size: Large (35-37kg)
Location: Currently in Turkey, awaiting adoption
Needs: A home with regular exercise, socialization, and lots of love

Frankie is a large, handsome boy with a heart full of love. Rescued as a pup along with his littermates, Frankie’s early life was tough. Their mother had stopped feeding them, and without rescue, they wouldn’t have survived. A local dog rescue took them in, but after struggling to find homes for them, they reached out to Animal Friends of Turkey (AFOT) for help. Now, Frankie is ready for his forever home.

Frankie’s journey hasn’t been easy. He and his siblings were isolated and not properly socialized due to the pandemic, which made them nervous and timid when they first arrived. But Frankie is no longer the shy, uncertain puppy he once was. While he may still be cautious with new people, once he trusts you, Frankie will be the most loyal, affectionate companion. He’s ready to shine in a loving home where he can continue to grow and learn.

Frankie is a super-affectionate boy who loves to be stroked and cuddled. He’s very food-oriented, enjoys his walks, and walks extremely well on a lead. As an energetic large breed, he will need plenty of exercise and a securely fenced outdoor space where he can play and burn off some of that energy. Frankie can jump very high, so a rigidly secure garden is essential for his safety.

Frankie is dog-friendly and loves to interact and play with other dogs. He could happily live as the only dog in the home or with a resident female. His stunning appearance and unique markings make him a real eye-catcher, and his friendly, affectionate nature will make him a beloved member of any family.

At 3 years and 9 months old, Frankie is neutered, vaccinated, and chipped, and he’s eager to find his forever family. Frankie is currently in Turkey, but we’ll help him travel to the UK once the right home is found. A home check is required, and while there is no adoption fee, we kindly ask for a voluntary donation to help with rescue costs.

All dogs are tested for Brucella, Leishmaniasis, Anaplasma, Heartworm, and E-Canis before they travel, and proof of testing and signed vet letters will be provided to the adopter.

Could Frankie be the loving companion you’ve been searching for?

If you think you could offer Frankie the life and forever home he deserves, please check out our adoption process via Adopting With AFOT. There, you’ll find everything you need to get started, including our adoption form. A home check is always carried out, and while there’s no fixed adoption fee, we do kindly ask for a voluntary donation to help with our ongoing rescue efforts.

Important Information

All our dogs will be tested prior to leaving Turkey for the following diseases:

BRUCELLA
LEISHMANIAS
ANAPLASMA
HEARTWORM
E-CANIS

Proof of tests and accompanying signed vet letters will be sent to adopter.

A home check is always made.

We provide a lifetime rescue back up (RBU) and work to DEFRA guidelines.

While there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a voluntary donation to help towards our costs of between £595-£795. Each dog costs us on average £2500-£3000 to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome and our adoption donation is only a small proportion of this.

We rely solely on fundraising for the remainder plus any emergency treatment needed to help these abused, neglected and abandoned animals which are often in horrific condition and desperate need when they come into AFOT care.

Every penny we raise goes towards rescuing another dog, so even if you decide not to rehome one of our dogs today, please consider a donation so that we can continue to rescue another dog in the future.
