In October 2021 AFOT was informed about two litters of puppies that were living next to a busy motorway in the middle of nowhere in Zonguldak Province in Turkey. Only weeks old and motherless, we don’t know what had happened to their mother but they stood zero chance of survival if we didn’t help them.
We arranged transport and camped out for days until we could catch both litters. They were only 8 weeks old and very poorly. Sadly one of the litters had contracted Parvovirus and one by one died.

The remaining four all grew into a glorious dogs with obvious Retriever/Labrador in their mix, although slightly smaller.
Being motherless so young did leave the four dogs with some anxiety issues, which meant they all needed kindness, love and patience to learn to fully trust and we therefore wanted them to be able to stay with at least one sibling, for reassurance.
Hope & Indie were spotted by Amanda Speight and went to live with her and her family in Barnsley, South Yorkshire in October 2022.
Amanda says, “Indie loves squirrels and snuggles and Hope loves chasing rabbits and belly rubs. They have made my house a home again.”

Ellie & Joy joined their forever family – Eleanor Murphy & Josh Clark – in Darlington, North Yorkshire in April 2024.
Eleanor says, “We love them beyond words. We’re so lucky we found AFOT and rescued our fur babies.”

All four dogs have certainly landed on their paws and each of their adopters with loving forever homes, showing their appreciation with lots of zoomies and cuddles.
Without us there is no hope for these dogs and for every one we rehome there is another 100 waiting to take its place. But, we can only do so much without space or funds. Being volunteer run you can be sure 100% of your money goes towards food, foster care, vet bills and travel costs. Even if you decide not to adopt, please consider a donation.
Thank you.
