Maddie is a beautiful, affectionate young girl who was found living on the streets in the summer of 2024. At only around 10 months old, she had likely been abandoned in an area notorious for dog dumping. Despite her tough start, she remained incredibly loving — always wagging her tail for everyone she met.

Local residents tried to keep her safe and fed, but her future was uncertain. When a man was seen throwing stones at her and taking photos — a sign she might soon be taken to the local shelter — AFOT stepped in immediately to protect her. Maddie was taken into our foster care network in August 2024 and is now thriving in sanctuary care.

Maddie is a fun, stocky, medium-sized girl with a playful and cheerful spirit. She gets along well with other dogs, although she can be a little bossy — something the other dogs seem to tolerate due to her youthful energy! She could happily live as an only dog or with a friendly resident male.

She is incredibly people-friendly, loving attention, food, cuddles, and a good explore. She plays with enthusiasm and joy, so an adopter who enjoys an active, lively companion would be ideal. Though still young, Maddie already walks well on a lead, has good recall, and is very eager to learn. She has been neutered and is generally very polite around food.

Maddie would thrive in a home where she can continue to learn and grow. She hasn’t been cat tested, so we recommend a cat-free home for now. With guidance, stability, and lots of love, Maddie will become a truly wonderful addition to the right family.

All our dogs, including Maddie, are tested for Brucella, Leishmaniasis, Anaplasma, Heartworm, and E-Canis before travel. Signed vet certificates and results will be provided.

Maddie is ready to travel to the UK — she’s got her bags packed and is dreaming of her forever family. If you think she might be the one for you, please get in touch. She’s waiting with love.

Important Information

All our dogs will be tested prior to leaving Turkey for the following diseases:

BRUCELLA
LEISHMANIAS
ANAPLASMA
HEARTWORM
E-CANIS

Proof of tests and accompanying signed vet letters will be sent to adopter.

A home check is always made.

We provide a lifetime rescue back up (RBU) and work to DEFRA guidelines.

While there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a voluntary donation to help towards our costs of between £595-£795. Each dog costs us on average £2500-£3000 to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome and our adoption donation is only a small proportion of this.

We rely solely on fundraising for the remainder plus any emergency treatment needed to help these abused, neglected and abandoned animals which are often in horrific condition and desperate need when they come into AFOT care.

Every penny we raise goes towards rescuing another dog, so even if you decide not to rehome one of our dogs today, please consider a donation so that we can continue to rescue another dog in the future.
