MARCY

Sex: Female

Size: Medium/Large (30 kg)
Needs: An active, loving home with regular walks, fun activities, and continued training.
Good with: Adults, other dogs (no cats), strangers .

Marcy was heartbreakingly abandoned by her previous owner, left tied to the front gates of our sister rescue, MELEZ, in the middle of the night. Since then, she has shown nothing but love and resilience — a true testament to her gentle and affectionate nature.

Marcy is a striking medium-to-large mixed breed girl, weighing 30 kg, with the most beautiful face and a personality to match. She absolutely adores people — men, women, and even strangers — and is always seeking cuddles and belly rubs. Friendly, playful, and full of joy, she lights up every space she enters.

She’s very sociable with other dogs and enjoys romping around with her doggy friends. She’s also a big fan of toys and playtime. However, she is not cat-friendly and should go to a cat-free home.

What makes Marcy even more special is her adorable quirk: she has no tail and a slight tic in her hind legs, the result of surviving distemper as a young dog. It’s subtle and doesn’t affect her quality of life — if anything, it gives her a cute little “dancing” motion when she moves.

Marcy is an intelligent and active girl who walks well on the lead (though she may pull when excited!) and would thrive in a home that enjoys outdoor activities and positive, consistent training. She is strong and energetic, yet obedient and eager to please.

Having spent three winters in rescue, Marcy truly deserves a forever home in 2025. She’s loyal, smart, social, and overflowing with love — the perfect companion for someone ready to welcome a devoted dog into their life.

All our dogs, including Marcy, are tested for Brucella, Leishmaniasis, Anaplasma, Heartworm, and E-Canis prior to travel. Signed vet certificates and test results will be provided to adopters.

Marcy is ready and waiting — could you be the one she’s been waiting for?

Important Information

All our dogs will be tested prior to leaving Turkey for the following diseases:

BRUCELLA
LEISHMANIAS
ANAPLASMA
HEARTWORM
E-CANIS

Proof of tests and accompanying signed vet letters will be sent to adopter.

A home check is always made.

We provide a lifetime rescue back up (RBU) and work to DEFRA guidelines.

While there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a voluntary donation to help towards our costs of between £595-£795. Each dog costs us on average £2500-£3000 to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome and our adoption donation is only a small proportion of this.

We rely solely on fundraising for the remainder plus any emergency treatment needed to help these abused, neglected and abandoned animals which are often in horrific condition and desperate need when they come into AFOT care.

Every penny we raise goes towards rescuing another dog, so even if you decide not to rehome one of our dogs today, please consider a donation so that we can continue to rescue another dog in the future.
