Miles is the sweetest, most loyal little gentleman — and he’s ready to start the next chapter of his life with someone who will show him the love and care he’s always deserved. Rescued from a crowded government shelter in Turkey, Miles was one of the first dogs AFOT saved in partnership with Melez Dog Rescue under the country’s new Massacre Law. When we found him, he was severely malnourished — little more than skin and bones — but despite everything, Miles never stopped being kind, gentle, and full of love.

Now fully recovered, Miles is thriving in his foster enclosure. He’s a happy, affectionate boy who loves being around other dogs and adores human attention. Whether he’s playing with his doggy pals or squeezing to the front of the cuddle queue in the mornings, Miles just wants to be near people and friends. He can be a bit jealous when cuddles are being given out (he really doesn’t want to miss out!) and his love of treats is strong — he’ll let you know if he thinks he deserves an extra one.

Miles enjoys walks and being out in nature, but busy streets or loud noises unsettle him. We suspect he may have been hit in the past, as sudden movements still make him flinch. He’s come a long way in gaining trust, but he would do best in a quiet, calm environment with a predictable daily routine, ideally without small children or high energy households.

He would thrive in a home with a secure garden, access to quiet walking areas, and lots of affection to go around. He is medium energy — playful and fun, but also very happy to snuggle up and just be with his humans.

Miles is truly a loving soul who just wants a peaceful life filled with companionship and kindness. If you think you could offer this gentle boy the forever home he deserves, we’d love to hear from you.

All our dogs are tested prior to leaving Turkey for:
Brucella, Leishmaniasis, Anaplasma, Heartworm, and E-Canis.
Vet-signed test results and certificates are provided to adopters.

Please visit Adopting With AFOT to learn more about the process and to fill out an adoption form. A home check is always carried out. While there is no set adoption fee, we do kindly ask for a voluntary donation to help with rescue costs.

Important Information

All our dogs will be tested prior to leaving Turkey for the following diseases:

BRUCELLA
LEISHMANIAS
ANAPLASMA
HEARTWORM
E-CANIS

Proof of tests and accompanying signed vet letters will be sent to adopter.

A home check is always made.

We provide a lifetime rescue back up (RBU) and work to DEFRA guidelines.

While there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a voluntary donation to help towards our costs of between £595-£795. Each dog costs us on average £2500-£3000 to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome and our adoption donation is only a small proportion of this.

We rely solely on fundraising for the remainder plus any emergency treatment needed to help these abused, neglected and abandoned animals which are often in horrific condition and desperate need when they come into AFOT care.

Every penny we raise goes towards rescuing another dog, so even if you decide not to rehome one of our dogs today, please consider a donation so that we can continue to rescue another dog in the future.
