MIMI

Sex: Female
Age: 4 Years 6 Months (Feb 2026)
Size: Medium (28 kg)
Location: in the UK – ST Neots Cambridgeshire area (visits can be arranged)
Needs: A confident owner who can offer a good routine. Can live as an only dog or in a multi pet household with other dogs & cats.

Mimi is currently in foster care in the UK after traveling from Turkey in Jan 2026 after being in our care some time, originally rescued from a horrific public shelter in a shocking state and very lucky to survive.

Mimi is a really lovely friendly easy going calm dog who has settled amazingly into her home routine, we feel she will do well with a confident owner who can offer her a similar routine, as that’s what she is used to and why she has settled so quickly. A stunning looking girl with her shiny brindle coat and gorgeous eyes she gets noticed everywhere she goes.

Mimi currently lives with other dogs who she gets on well with unless the little one starts barking and screeching! She also lives with a cat who she is very good around, as she is with the elderly resident dog too and shows herself to be good with children.

Mimi loves her walks where she walks really well on a lead, is good with recall & loves saying hello to every one she meets. She also loves her food, she has no food aggression but don’t leave any on the kitchen top or look away while your eating as it will be gone in a second !! She will steal !!

Mimi is a very chilled out gentle easy going girlie who after her morning walk is happy to chill on the sofa, she will bark when someone comes in the house but has no problem being left on her own for 2-3 hours, she has also just started to learn to play with toys which is lovely to see.

Mimi is neutered, vaccinated, chipped, and has been tested for Brucella, Leishmaniasis, Anaplasma, Heartworm, and E-Canis before leaving Turkey along with proof of testing and signed vet letters.
If you think you could offer Mimi the forever home she’s been waiting for, please check out our adoption process via Adopting With AFOT. There, you’ll find everything you need to get started, including our adoption form. A home check is always carried out, and while there’s no fixed adoption fee, we do kindly ask for a voluntary donation to help with our ongoing rescue efforts.

Important Information

All our dogs will be tested prior to leaving Turkey for the following diseases:

BRUCELLA
LEISHMANIAS
ANAPLASMA
HEARTWORM
E-CANIS

Proof of tests and accompanying signed vet letters will be sent to adopter.

A home check is always made.

We provide a lifetime rescue back up (RBU) and work to DEFRA guidelines.

While there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a voluntary donation to help towards our costs of between £595-£795. Each dog costs us on average £2500-£3000 to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome and our adoption donation is only a small proportion of this.

We rely solely on fundraising for the remainder plus any emergency treatment needed to help these abused, neglected and abandoned animals which are often in horrific condition and desperate need when they come into AFOT care.

Every penny we raise goes towards rescuing another dog, so even if you decide not to rehome one of our dogs today, please consider a donation so that we can continue to rescue another dog in the future.
