ZEYNA

Sex: Female
Age: 6 years (Jan 20026)
Size: Large (36-40 kg)
Needs: A reasonably quiet, rural home with plenty of space and a patient owner who can help her adjust to new environments.
Good with: Cats and other dogs & children

Zeyna’s early life was filled with neglect. Kept in a filthy small pen at a hotel, she was used as a guard dog and left to live in her own filth for nearly a year. Thankfully, a compassionate worker at the hotel began caring for her, providing food and cleaning her pen. Eventually, an animal rescue worker stepped in, and Zeyna was brought into AFOT’s care.

Zeyna has blossomed into a really beautiful, happy intelligent dog. She is a typical Turkish mixed dog, with possibly labrador in the mix, she is the size and build of a Labrador.

She is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and she has a calm, loving nature with a brilliant personality, she is always happy and smiling.

Zeyna is excellent with other dogs and cats. she is also good with children.

She currently lives with several dogs and cats. She can be an only dog (providing she has interaction with other dogs) or live with another dog/s and on meeting strangers shows no timidness only wanting to interact and be stroked.

Zeyna would thrive in a rural setting where she can enjoy the freedom of open space.

She walks well on a lead is intelligent and listens to commands.

Zeyna currently lives in a very peaceful tranquil location so does not see lots of other people or traffic and therefore we know she will be timid in busy areas with traffic which we would want to avoid. A quiet, rural home with access to peaceful rural walks in the Countryside would be ideal for her. She is also much more comfortable outside than inside so a home that has open doors to gardens/outside space etc would suit her.

Zeyna is a lovely, easy dog who will make a great companion for the right person and home who are looking for a loyal, intelligent Labrador size dog.

Important Information

All our dogs will be tested prior to leaving Turkey for the following diseases:

BRUCELLA
LEISHMANIAS
ANAPLASMA
HEARTWORM
E-CANIS

Proof of tests and accompanying signed vet letters will be sent to adopter.

A home check is always made.

We provide a lifetime rescue back up (RBU) and work to DEFRA guidelines.

While there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a voluntary donation to help towards our costs of between £595-£795. Each dog costs us on average £2500-£3000 to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome and our adoption donation is only a small proportion of this.

We rely solely on fundraising for the remainder plus any emergency treatment needed to help these abused, neglected and abandoned animals which are often in horrific condition and desperate need when they come into AFOT care.

Every penny we raise goes towards rescuing another dog, so even if you decide not to rehome one of our dogs today, please consider a donation so that we can continue to rescue another dog in the future.
