Poor little rescue girl Nova was found abandoned having been thrown out of a car in Üzümlü, Turkey in May 2022.

Just a young dog of approximately six months old, Nova was fending for herself the best way she could by trying to latch on to every human she met. With zero manners though, jumping and mouthing them wasn’t acceptable to the humans.

Nova seemed to take a liking to the particular cafe in a garage as she was being fed titbits by some, although being kicked away by others. Sadly, her habit of barking and trying to chase away tractors and motorbikes wasn’t going to end well so a kind-hearted local animal welfare supporter took her in for her safety and Nova became an AFOT rescue.

At a year old we began our search for a home for this small collie-cross, weighing 12-14kg (October 2022), She was a highly active, intelligent girl looking for a home which could offer her lots of stimulation, someone with lots of time and energy to work with her. Agility classes might be something she’d’ve enjoyed being such a clever little girl.

Nova became a very playful dog with lots of energy, a typical collie type dog and when she’d spent all that pent up energy then she was very happy laying on the sofa having cuddles – she loved a cuddle…until the next walk!

Sadly, it was found that Nova had internal complications and despite much veterinary care, she passed away over to Rainbow Bridge with a few short months. Such a sad story to what was so close to being such a happy one. RIP Nova.
