Sheila is lost and lonely no more and has a forever home of her own in Manchester. This is is her original story:

This sweet and lovable girl turned up out of the blue one day wandering around in a sad and confused state along a busy main road.

We are not sure what her background is but one thing is clear and that is she has no street sense or street knowledge at all.

It is clear that she was either abandoned or dumped into a world she knew nothing about and that she found utterly bewildering.

Tiny and lovable Sheila is loving the home comforts

She was spotted by one of the AFOT team who kept a close eye on her after she became concerned.

She made several appeals for help in identifying her owners but all efforts to find where she had come from came to nought.

She could not stand by and leave the poor girl to suffer as she was struggling to survive, and she faced almost certain injury from the speeding cars along that road.

Sheila will be ready to travel to the UK this Autumn

She scooped her up and now Animal Friends of Turkey has stepped in to help find this girl a forever home of her own.

Sheila will stay with our team member over there in Turkey until we find a permanent home for her.

We believe Sheila is just under two years old and was generally in good condition when she was found.

Sheila has such a sweet nature and responds well to kindness

She has already started the process of being readied for transport across to the UK and she should be ready to travel in around late October to mid November.

Sheila has taken to life in foster care very well and is already rewarding them for their kindness.

She is the sweetest of girls and a tiny thing, being about the size of a sausage dog – short in the legs and long in the body.

Sheila was not cut out for the streets

She loves her fuss and attention and is proving to be an ideal and polite house guest. She responds well to kindness.

She gets on well with all the other dogs and cats which is lucky given that she is living in a house full of them.

There is no other way than to describe her as an easy, playful and loving little girl who will make an ideal companion for someone.

All we need now is to find the right person and the right home in the UK to give her the loving, safe home she deserves.

If you feel you could be that special person for one of our dogs then please check out what’s involved in taking on one of our rescue dogs by clicking this link and reading our Dog Adoption Policy guidelines.

A home check is always made and while there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a donation with all our dogs to help towards our costs.

If you are interested in providing a loving home for one of our rescue dogs in general then please check our Adoption Page.
