Kerry’s early life was one of survival. Found wandering alone, frail and suffering from mange, this tiny girl was clearly struggling to survive. Fortunately, an animal lover stepped in and nursed her back to health before asking our sister rescue, Melez, for help. Kerry is now safe, but what she truly needs is a forever home to give her the security she’s never known.
Kerry is a shy and timid soul who has endured more than her little frame should have. She is initially fearful of strangers — especially men — and will often bark or keep her distance. But underneath the fear is a dog that desperately wants to trust. Once she feels safe, Kerry reveals her sweet, funny, and loyal nature. She enjoys affection, play, and companionship with those she bonds with.
The outside world is still a scary place for Kerry. She is slowly learning to walk on a lead and build her confidence on outings. A calm and understanding home is essential for her, one that will give her the time she needs to settle and thrive at her own pace. She would benefit greatly from living with a gentle, social resident dog to show her the ropes and provide reassurance.
Kerry is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the UK or EU. She will need experienced adopters who can commit to helping her transition from a fearful rescue into a confident and happy companion. With time, patience, and love, Kerry will reward her family with unwavering devotion.
All our dogs are tested before travel for Brucella, Leishmaniasis, Anaplasma, Heartworm, and E-Canis. Vet certificates and test results are provided to adopters.
Kerry is ready to begin the next chapter of her life — could you be the one to help her turn the page?
All our dogs will be tested prior to leaving Turkey for the following diseases:
BRUCELLA
LEISHMANIAS
ANAPLASMA
HEARTWORM
E-CANIS
Proof of tests and accompanying signed vet letters will be sent to adopter.
A home check is always made.
We provide a lifetime rescue back up (RBU) and work to DEFRA guidelines.
While there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a voluntary donation to help towards our costs of between £595-£795. Each dog costs us on average £2500-£3000 to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome and our adoption donation is only a small proportion of this.
We rely solely on fundraising for the remainder plus any emergency treatment needed to help these abused, neglected and abandoned animals which are often in horrific condition and desperate need when they come into AFOT care.
Every penny we raise goes towards rescuing another dog, so even if you decide not to rehome one of our dogs today, please consider a donation so that we can continue to rescue another dog in the future.
If you’ve read through our adoption process and found a dog you think is right for you, it’s time to fill out our adoption form.
