Dottie came into our care in May 2026 after one of our Trustees came across her with her mother (AFOT Winnie) both trying to survive on the streets in a residential area. Typical pup thought chasing the motor bikes and cars was fun… Both mummy and Dottie were at risk of being removed by the local municipality as the new ‘animal stray’ law implemented in July 2024 had been vigorously reinforced and it now meant NO dogs were permitted to live on the streets. Any dog caught would be removed, she was also a traffic accident waiting to happen.
Enquiries found that her mum had given birth after being dumped in the area to 4 pups , 3 of them were taken by Turkish people and only Dottie remained, which is when we came across them. AFOT swept them to safety, Dottie was neutered shortly after and since then has just had fun. It would have been quite a different story had she been much longer left to the streets.
Dottie is a young energetic dog, she is brilliant with other dogs and just wants to play play play, she is trusting of humans and will make a wonderful pet. She is extremely dog friendly and lives with a number of other dogs in the enclosure including her mummy Winnie
Dottie is an intelligent dog who will look for you to interact, a stunning black and white beauty . Dottie’s ideal home would be one where she will get good regular exercise, a home as the only dog or with other dogs but if an only dog will need some stimulation as she is still young. A home with a good consistent exercise routine would be great for Dottie, she has not been officially cat tested but where she was found there was lots of street cats that she didn’t bother with or chase, they even fed together, so we are confident with correct introductions she could live with a cat/s. Parents with their toddler were feeding her and mummy on the street, she loved the toddler, although was a little exuberant, as to be expected from a young dog, but certainly no aggression whatsoever, Her enthusiasm for life is contagious, we love seeing her shining happy personality shining through.
A really lovely young dog saved from a fate unknown, a remarkable dog that will now get a chance to live a full life.
Dottie is neutered, vaccinated, chipped, and has been tested for Brucella, Leishmaniasis, Anaplasma, Heartworm, and E-Canis before leaving Turkey along with proof of testing and signed vet letters.
