Ronnie fell on his paws when he was seen and adopted by Sam Brookes and her family. Being such a big boy we were concerned that Ronnie may take time to find his forever home, but it wasn’t to be the case and AFOT got more than just an a wonderful adopter, we got a fabulous new volunteer too – Sam joined our small team, helping to fundraise and rehome.
Ronnie has definitely been a whirlwind and thankfully Sam is very experienced with a hoard of rescues already so has lots of patience, because having never lived in a home environment everything has been new to him and it’s just been a big playground. Luckily AFOT take our adoption process seriously and we offer lifetime backup so we’ve been able to talk Sam through his adjustment period ensuring Ronnie gets to stay with his adopters and his adopters get to see there is more to Ronnie than the big oaf he’s been.

Here’s Ronnie’s original story: Ronnie had a rough start to life, he was noticed at approximately 3 months old roaming the street, just skin and bone. We don’t know how long he had been alone for but he wouldn’t have survived much longer. Our Ortaca Sanctuary keeper couldn’t leave him to his fate so took him in and asked for our help and that’s where he’s stayed.

He is super sociable and loves everyone. Brenda, our sanctuary keeper describes him as very gentle, always happy-go-lucky and a polite eater. Ronnie is good on a lead and mixes and plays with all dogs, no matter their size or breed. He is cat friendly but does like to kiss them! and he is good with children.

Ronnie may have found his forever home but we have so many still looking, so if you’re looking too, click this link: Adopting With AFOT. A home check is always made and while there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a voluntary donation to help towards our costs.
All our dogs will be tested prior to leaving Turkey for the following diseases:
BRUCELLA
LEISHMANIAS
ANAPLASMA
HEARTWORM
E-CANIS
Proof of tests and accompanying signed vet letters will be sent to adopter.

AFOT is a UK registered charity (number 1182513), run by a small group of dedicated volunteers. We provide a lifetime rescue back up (RBU) and work to DEFRA guidelines. We were set up to offer a future where there is none to dogs in Turkey. With each dog costing us on average £2500 and our adoption donation being a small proportion of this, we rely solely on fundraising to help these abused, neglected and abandoned animals.

Without us there is no hope for these dogs and for every one we rehome there is another 100 waiting to take its place. But, we can only do so much without space or funds. Being volunteer run you can be sure 100% of your money goes towards food, foster care, vet bills and travel costs. Even if you decide not to adopt, please consider a donation.
Thank you.
