All dogs are special to AFOT but Boxers hold a special place a particularly special place in the heart of many of our AFOT volunteers and supporters. When Wallace came into AFOT care we were appalled to see this stunning boy reduced to this skeleton. Finding the right home was paramount and Sally & Martyn with new brother Barney were the perfect match.
Wallace is loving his new life in Wales enjoying the beautiful surrounding countryside, the beaches, the car, the pub, his toys, being groomed, playing fetch, and most of all, his grub!

This is Wallace’s original story: Wallace came into our care in October 2023 after his owner just simply didn’t want him anymore and would have taken this gorgeous lad to the government shelter.

Turkish shelters are like death camps, full of disease and neglect where a dog would find it hard to survive. No place for any dog and certainly a death sentence to Wallace who was malnourished severely underweight and not in great condition.

When he came into our care, he was miserable and down, to see a boxer dog in this depressed state was sad for us all to see, boxers are typically a breed that is always happy and fun loving. But it didn’t take Wallace long to get his mojo back and now is a typical typical bouncy boxer who is great with other dogs and unlike most dogs in Turkey really likes men, he adores the vet and in fact adores anyone who will give him eye contact which means its PLAYTIME!

He’s funny and full on and has the typical great Boxer happy go lucky nature – his tail is always wagging, he’s a leggy tall brindle boxer boy gorgeous looking whose loving nature everyone falls in love with. He simply adores his Turkish foster mum, he is lead trained but is quite strong along with being extremely intelligent and quick to learn, training will be a joy with him as he listens to every word.

Wallace may have found his forever home but we have so many dogs still looking, so please take a look at what’s involved in taking on one of our rescue dogs by clicking this link: Adopting With AFOT. A home check is always made and while there is no adoption fee required, we do ask for a voluntary donation to help towards our costs.
All our dogs will be tested prior to leaving Turkey for the following diseases:
BRUCELLA
LEISHMANIAS
ANAPLASMA
HEARTWORM
E-CANIS
Proof of tests and accompanying signed vet letters will be sent to adopter.
AFOT is a UK registered charity (number 1182513), run by a small group of dedicated volunteers. We provide a lifetime rescue back up (RBU) and work to DEFRA guidelines. We were set up to offer a future where there is none to dogs in Turkey. With each dog costing us on average £2500 and our adoption donation being a small proportion of this, we rely solely on fundraising to help these abused, neglected and abandoned animals.
Without us there is no hope for these dogs and for every one we rehome there is another 100 waiting to take its place. But, we can only do so much without space or funds. Being volunteer run you can be sure 100% of your money goes towards food, foster care, vet bills and travel costs. Even if you decide not to adopt, please consider a donation.
Thank you – AFOT gofundmepage
